The latest news about the online shopping range is that Posh Shopping will only be selling online at Bid or Buy from now on. Click here to see our full range of ‘New & Nearly New’ items. You can rest assured that all of the ‘New’ items are carefully chosen for quality and fit, and all of the ‘Nearly New’ items are just that – NEARLY NEW. Posh Shopping will not resell items that are damaged or old looking, and when there are slight defects you will be told about them in the description of the item.

The Bid or Buy website has proven to be an easy to navigate website, with the largest selection of items to purchase online in South Africa. I trust the website and many other South Africans also trust it and use it daily. They reach people in parts of our country where shopping for a good selection at reasonable prices is not possible, enabling them to shop with ease from the comfort of their own home. Payment is easy and 100% secure – so you can shop and know that your details are safe.

Create your own profile now, by clicking on My Referral Link - so you can also start shopping at the largest store in the country.

Posh Shopping currently sell 99% of their items on Bid or Buy – but occasionally there will be ‘Once-Off’ items put on Auction to give supporters the chance of owning special Designer Label items at much reduced prices.
Starting today, there is an Extra Special Auction for a gorgeous Authentic Pringle Evening Gown. This stunning dress is ‘Nearly New’ – worn only once and is in excellent condition. The size on the label is XL, but it is a small cut, will fit ladies who are size 38. The dress would have originally cost approximately R2,499 and is now worth about R900. Bidding starts at R390 and you can start bidding here – the Auction closes on Wednesday 18 July @ 23h00.

These are a few photos of the beautiful dress:

Follow Posh Shopping on Twitter or Facebook to get regular updates on future Auctions and Newly Uploaded Items for sale on Bid or Buy – there are items loaded almost every day.

More items and direct links to their description are below this blog’s comment box, at the bottom of the page.

Good luck to all those bidding – The winner will be a very happy lady!

MY COLOURING: COOL

(Ash coloured or grey hair with pale to medium toned skin)

As you get older, your colouring group may change to cool. This enables you to wear new colours that you might not have worn before or even tried to wear. The cool colouring group has lots of blue in their neutral selection, and these will look especially good if paired with contrasting colours. Black can also be worn, but away from the face. You should also try ‘lifting’ your face by wearing sparkling jewellery near your face. If you now need to wear spectacles, choose them in a colour from your neutral shades – a rosy beige shade is great if you prefer a lighter tone, or dark grey or navy if you prefer a darker shade.

These are some great colour combinations that work on you:
Rose-beige and raspberry
Taupe and fuchsia or bright periwinkle
Charcoal and baby pink
Chinese (bright) blue and sea green / aqua
Dark navy and icy blue or sapphire
Dark teal and icy green

Blue works really well on you – it is probably your best choice, especially if you have blue eyes. The best shades are icy blue (very pale, almost white), powder and sky blue, sapphire, true blue and royal blue. So you see, you can actually wear any shade of blue from very pale to navy (one of your neutral shades).

For purple, you can wear either the berry shades like fuchsia and plum, or the soft shades like lavender and violet.

You shouldn’t really wear red, unless it has blue undertones like raspberry.
For pinks, stick to the true pink shades like baby pink, candy pink, hot pink, rose and orchid.

Rather don’t wear orange or yellow, these will dull you. The best green is a pale icy green.
For sea green/blue colours, you should choose peppermint or the light shades of teal and aqua.

For makeup, think rose and blue-lavender. Your eye shadow can be a blend of soft pink, lavender, heather or plum. Keep you blush to a shade of rose, and you lips should be a natural pink shade like rose or mauve as well. Use an eyebrow pencil if your eyebrows have also become grey, but be careful not to make them too dark – this will look too harsh – so stick to a medium grey shade.

Estee Lauder is best for older skin - actually the better choice for any skin.
Best quality products available, well worth the extra cost.

There is nothing stopping you from looking gorgeous, even as you get older.

MY COLOURING: DEEP

(Dark hair with dark brown eyes, and pale to dark skin)

Your darker neutrals can be worn together, or you can wear a darker colour with ivory, just keep the darker colour nearest to your face. Stay away from wearing pale colours by themselves. When pairing pale colours with a darker neutral, keep the lighter colour away from your face, just be careful where you wear these colours – they generally make things look larger.

Vanessa getting it right by adding a dark purple scarf
around the white shirt, adding dark colour near her face.

These are some great colour combinations that work on you:

Ivory and plum or aubergine

Pewter and red or burgundy

Black-brown and rose or salmon pink

Black and mustard or fern

Dark forest green and turquoise or aqua

Dark navy and true blue

Kim looking stunning in Navy.

For blue, stick to the dark shades from periwinkle to royal blue. No pastels or powder blue shades.

Lira in Blue.

Same goes for the purple shades, plum and dark aubergine is best.

Red is your best friend, choose true red, scarlet, raspberry shades and burgundy.

Eva in True Red.

For pinks, blush pink, salmon and rose is the better choices.

Halle in blush pink.

Eva in salmon pink.

Orange is not so great, but mustard works well – especially if your skin is not too pale. Lime green also works well for you.

For sea green/blue colours, stick to the darker shade once again. Emerald turquoise, aqua and Chinese blue.

For makeup, you look best with darker eyes. Choose dark colours for eye shadow and eyeliner, like dark mocha shades, aubergine, and deep shades of teal and smoky greys. If you prefer something more natural, use mocha shades with apricot on your eyes. Blush can be a peachy rose shade and lips can be anything from tomato to brick brown shades, or use a wine coloured lip gloss for an easy go-to option.

Remember, the darker your skin, the darker your makeup colours need to be – so never purchase makeup in shades like shimmery pastels and too light silvers and white – this will just look odd.

The next blog will be about the COOL colouring group – then we’ll be finished with the MY COLOURING series.

Please email any questions to info@poshshopping.co.za or comment below. All questions will be answered as best I can.

MY COLOURING : CLEAR

(Dark hair with green or blue eyes, and pale to dark skin)

You look best in contrasting colours, think dark neutrals with bright colours. Black and white also works wonderfully together on you, either as is - or you can add a third brighter colour to create more interest to your look.  Try adding your contrasting bright colours in your accessories like scarves, brooches, statement necklaces, earrings or brightly coloured frames on your glasses.

These are some colour combinations that will work perfectly for you:

Pure white and royal blue

Pewter (dark matt silver shade) and bright purple or bright periwinkle blue

Black-brown and apple green

Black and salmon or candy pink

Charcoal and ruby red

Dark navy and mint green or Chinese blue (a very bright almost neon blue)

Blue is great for you, try all shades especially icy blue (an almost white shade of blue), sky blue, primary and true blue through to darker shades like lapis and royal blue. If your eyes are also blue, then all of these shades of blue will really compliment you even more. If you wear blue on its own, go for a darker brighter shade like true or royal blue.

For purples, stick to the primary bright purple and the purple-periwinkle shades.

True red is best on you, often referred to as ‘post box red’. Scarlet and ruby red, as well as watermelon is just as good.

For pinks, apricot and salmon shades work well, as well as candy pink and a very dark shade of pinkish red.

Yellow and orange can be given a miss – these just don’t flatter your colouring much. For green, stick to apple green or fern.

For sea green/blue colours, mint is great – but the bluer shades work better for you. Try emerald turquoise, teal, aqua and Chinese blue.

For makeup, you can either do a bright red lip with natural eyes or darker eyes with a natural lip. Both works very well for you, but never do them together – always one or the other. When choosing the dark eye option, use eye shadow in shades of greens, blues, greys, teals. These are all great, just blend well with a good brush. Natural pink/rose blush is best and always use a lip liner when going bold with your lipstick.

Next up is the DEEP colouring group – don’t miss it in a few days’ time.

I am trying to wrap up the MY COLOURING range within the next week, so the COOL colouring group will also come out in a few days’ time.
